"Doctor, doctor, I get this shooting pain when I jab myself in the eye with a sharp object."
"So, don't jab yourself in the eye with a sharp object," the doctor replied.
"Well, actually I was hoping you would tell me how to jab myself in the eye, without suffering the shooting pain," the patient countered.
"In fact," the patient continued, "I was hoping you would tell me how my addiction to eye jabbing is normal and good for my vision. After all, that is what most doctors tell me."
You would never expect this to happen in a doctor's office, but it does happen in my office (pastor) all the time.
