It appears to me that people argue against free will and holiness of heart and life, not so much because they care about God's sovereignty and salvation by grace (since neither free will nor holiness contradicts God's sovereignty or salvation by grace), but rather because they are against personal responsibility and accountability.
I mean, I do not have any problem espousing God's sovereignty, or salvation by grace, and I believe in free will and holy heart/living.
These principles are not in conflict.
