09/28/12 WHERE'S THE JOY?
When a believer praises God for forgiveness, cleansing and deliverance from the penalty, power and pollution of sin in his own life, some people interpret that as a claim to self righteousness. This is because the accuser has never experienced the power of salvation in his own life. The accuser is still under the domain of darkness and is a stranger to the saving power of God.
Otherwise, the accuser would join the brother/sister in praising God for His power and His mercy. This is why there is such little praise and joy among those who believe in sinning religion; why they always look like they have just bitten into a persimmon. They are not enjoying God's deliverance from sin.
How sad. Of course, if I had a god that would not or could not deliver me from sin, I would not have joy either.
