There is a preacher in our community who said that salvation actually changes a person.
Really, he did.
He said that drunks quit drinking alcohol, drug addict quit taking dope, thieves quit stealing, adulterers quit their philandering, liars quit deceiving, pedophiles quit abusing, violent people quit hurting others when they get saved.
STOP, STOP, STOP, when will madness stop. What we do not need in our society is a bunch of Bible spouting, holy rolling Jesus freaks.
This preacher is as crazy as a bedbug.
This preacher is as crazy as a bedbug.
He not only said that God separates people from sin, he said (are you ready for this?), he said that sin separates people from God.
Who let this lunatic loose? This guy is dangerous.
No. It is true. He says that salvation is a life changing miracle of God, wrought in the lives of people who believe Jesus died and rose again to redeem sinners and purify believers.

Can you believe it?
Well, maybe
Well, maybe
we can accuse him of being a false prophet,
we can misquote him,
we can erroneously compare his beliefs with anti-Christian cults,
we can attribute to him bizarre beliefs and anti-social behavior.
If we are loud enough, people will buy into the attacks on his intelligence, his accuracy and his honesty.
Of course, all we have to do is point out that salvation does not really save, that deliverance does not really deliver, that Divine transformation does not really change anyone miraculously and that the Bible does not really mean what it says. All in all, it should be easy to make him look like a lunatic.
Maybe the PC crowd will call us "haters," but maybe there is some merit in attacking a guy who says so many things so contrary to the social norm. After all, if you read what this preacher says, he is obviously not well.

It would be good for society to squelch this guy. We are better off with a healthy amount of wickedness than unrestrained love and righteousness.
Remember, this guy thinks everyone should and can turn from all sin and follow Christ fully. That kind of lunacy would oust our political leaders, undermine our greed driven economy, empty our prisons, put social workers and most psychiatrist out of work, overthrow the humanistic agenda of the government school system, shut down merchants of misery (drugs, gambling, pornography) and put America back on the track to exceptionalism.
And we know that our society is not ready for this kind of CHANGE.
I have heard this guy say that he is not trying to get followers to himself, but like Paul in the Bible, he encourages folks to follow him and others as long as they are following Jesus.
1 Corinthians 11:1
(1) Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.
Philippians 3:16-19
(16) Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.
(17) Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.
(18) (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
(19) Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
Philippians 4:9
(9) Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
Hebrews 13:7
(7) Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.
Remember, we are all following somebody. We just want to make sure we are following Jesus, that the people we follow are following Jesus and that we are marking the trail clearly for others to follow us, as we follow Christ.
1 Peter 2:21-25
(21) For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
(22) Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
(23) Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
(24) Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
(25) For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
3 John 1:11
(11) Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
