During the VP Debate, Paul Ryan was asked if he thought we (US Government) should apologize to the Muslims for the private citizen who burned the Koran.
I must have been out of the room when they asked him if the President, the Administration, the Congress or the United States Army should apologize to Christians for the time that the US Army, at the direction of the US Government, burned Holy Bibles in Afghanistan.
On May 22 of 2009 the U. S. Army confiscated and burned Holy Bibles in two Afghan languages, which had been provided to an Army chaplain in Afghanistan. This was done in response to a directive which does not allow military people to proselytize (witness for Christ). I don't know if you are aware that neither Christmas cards, nor Resurrection (Easter) cards, nor any kind of Christian material can be sent openly to military people stationed in Saudi Arabia. Military people in Saudi Arabia are not allowed to openly show their Christianity.
Actually, the letter of the law (US Military Code of Conduct) does not allow Christians to be active in witnessing or even exercising their Christian faith. In spite of the fact that there are many believers in the military, the Code of Conduct can be used to squelch or at least make it illegal for a believer to obey Christ in terms of sharing his/her faith. Witnessing is a basic Christian activity and expression of our faith and a thoughtful Christian could never agree to such a regulation. I am radical, but then again, being a Biblical Christian is radical.
Though there was little said about this American attack on the Christian faith, the news wires were burning up two years later when the guy in Florida wanted to burn a Koran. In fact, our country apologized to Muslims for the destruction of Korans during firefights in the Mideast.

The fact is that the Muslims were using the Korans to hide military information and the Muslims were hiding out in Mosques, schools and hospitals. It was the Muslims who were causing the destruction of Korans, yet the Obama administration apologized to the Muslim community.
I have never heard an apology to the Christian community for the destruction of, the burning of Holy Bibles.
