That is all it takes to change everything as we know it. Consider these four events.
1- National upheaval (military, economic, political) can destroy freedom and life as we know it is the USA.
2- Death, either our own or that of a loved one.
3- The Return of Christ. The only sure preparation for any of these events also takes place in a moment.
4- A step of faith in Christ, Who died and rose again to save us from the penalty, pollution and power of sin in this present evil world and in the world to come. NOW IS THE ACCEPTED TIME.
Events on the international scene provoked this post today. Our nation is so far removed from the principles (and the God) that made us great that it would not take much to cripple and topple us as a super power or as a free people.

The threat of religio/political, economic or military overthrow is at the door. If 9/11 changed America drastically, as minuscule as it was compared to what can happen today, then it is not unthinkable that the USA can be reduced to chaos and subjugated to tyrannical rule in the blink of an eye.
The only sure preparation is a personal submission to Christ now. It does not guarantee national security, but it does prepare us for whatever will happen.
