No one knows the Divinely given wealth lying within us at the time of our birth.
As we get older, we see hints of God's endowments (talents, strengths, gifts, abilities), but we do not appreciate their value or our potential.
God gives us mentors (parents, siblings, pastors, friends, leaders) who can help us mine our buried treasures and map a strategy of investment.
We don't know how much time we have left in this world, so we need to start early and stay focused to become all that God designed us to be. What a shame to wander through life aimlessly or pursuing useless, worthless and unattainable dreams.
This means that mentors need to be wise enough to see the potential in the child and then be willing and able to encourage, support and help them.

It also means that a child needs to be trusting and obedient enough to be led in the right direction.
It takes time, wisdom, patience and love to lead children into a productive and fulfilling life. This is where previous generations surpassed the present generation. They were often dedicated to guiding and equipping the next generation for success, rather than pursuing their own selfish ambitions.
At the age of sixty five I am still trying to find and exploit my opportunities. NEVER GIVE UP.
