09/11/12 TRIED AND TRUE

09/11/12 TRIED AND TRUE

It seems to me that it is better to draw close to the ones who have known you at your worst, yet still love you with the love of Christ, than to trust people who have not yet proved that they will love you with the love of Christ when difficult times arise. It is better to add new relations while holding on to faithful friends rather than throw off old friends for relationships that are yet untried and unproved.

Proverbs 27:5-6
(5) Open rebuke is better than secret love.
(6) Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

Proverbs 27:9
(9) Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel.

Proverbs 27:17

(17) Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
