09/01/12 SPORTAPHOR

09/01/12 SPORTAPHOR
(metaphor from sports)...

A player who doesn't play,
but makes his teammates pay,
then cries all day.

THE WHINER

THE SPORTAPHOR...
A person stands in one spot on the court, only hitting what comes straight to him, but he is constantly barking orders at his teammate (sometimes at both teams). Though his teammate runs from side to side, forward and back, trying to cover the entire court and return impossible shots, our "hero" criticizes his teammate for whatever he perceives to be his teammates short coming, and, when the game is over, our "court general" bemoans a loss. You can tell, this is his way of going through life, not just sports activities.

THE APPLICATION...
There are some people who just wait for the opportunities of life to come straight to them. They have the ability to go after situations, but they think they should not have to expend the energy, skill or time chasing the ball or making the difficult shot.
They tell others how they should live and then criticizes them when they fail, or they criticize their opponents when they perform with precision and focus. When an opportunity is lost, Mr. "The World Owes Me A Living" cries foul or complains about other people or the rules of life. When he fails for an extended period of time it is always someone else's fault and he whines about the unfair conditions, with which he had to work.

Too bad. Some of these guys are really capable of success, but they are not willing to make the commitments to overcome the oppositions in life.
