08/05/12 PSALM 119, FOREBODING TO SINNING RELIGION

08/05/12 PSALM 119, FOREBODING TO SINNING RELIGION

I was looking at Psalm 119 again. It has to be a nightmare for those who believe in sinning religion.

Almost all of the 176 verses refer to believers keeping God's
word,
law,
testimonies,
commandments,
precepts,
statutes,
judgments.

In fact, it is through God's word that the believer is
cleansed,
made upright and
is able to obey and keep God's law and
walk with God.

For those who believe that God's grace actually transforms us into new creatures, light walkers, this Psalm is a treasure trove of
inspiration,
information,
enlightenment and
empowerment.

God's people
do not hate God's law,
do not fear God's law,
do not dread God's law,
INSTEAD we love His law.

We know the law does not save us, but we also know the (moral) law of God is
holy, good, just, spiritual (Ro. 7:12-16),
in fact our inward man delights in the law of God (Ro. 7:22; Ps. 1:1-2).
If we are too sinful to obey God, it is because we are not saved.
