07/10/12 FAITH ESSENTIAL
The death and resurrection of Christ is essential, but they do not save sinners without faith.
There were witnesses to the Passion, yet they were not saved.
Even hearing the gospel does not save the lost, since many become enemies of the cross.
Faith in His sacrificial death for our sins and His physical resurrection are essential to our salvation.
Remember, God said, "For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it." (He. 4:2).
