04/01/12 UNFALTERING, UNCOMPROMISING AND UNLIMITED

04/01/12 UNFALTERING, UNCOMPROMISING AND UNLIMITED

The Background
The crowd that "welcomed" the arrival of Jesus to Jerusalem at the beginning of the week, with carpets of palm branches and shouts of praise, would be crying out, "Crucify Him, Crucify Him," by the end of the week.
They wanted temporal, economic, political change, while He offered moral, spiritual and eternal transformation.

The Overview
Some things never change. Unlike those fair weather followers, we should be
Unfaltering in our Faith,
Uncompromising in our Commitment and
Unlimited in our Love.

The Dangers
During worship service I recounted the events of Holy Week for the children and explained that people turn away from following Jesus because they either,
LOVE the things of the world, or they, or they
FEAR the disapproval of the world.

The Challenge
I explained the words, "Unfaltering, Uncompromising, Commitment and Unlimited" and called everyone to a life of consistent Christianity.

The True Faith
I pointed out that the Bible teaches that true faith is ongoing rather than an independent act in a single moment of time.
