03/09/12 CONFUSING COMMENDATION WITH CONDEMNATION

03/09/12 CONFUSING COMMENDATION WITH CONDEMNATION

When we have the mind of Christ (when we are transformed by the Holy Spirit), we think God's thoughts; we commend what He commends and we condemn what He condemns; we hate what He hates and we love what He loves. It is one thing for the sinner, the lost, the person without Christ to love sin, excuse sin, commend sin, but is an abomination when a person who claims to be saved is Satan's mouthpiece.

Confusing Commendation With Condemnation
Proverbs 17:15

(15) He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD.

Isaiah 5:20
(20) Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

DLG notes... God condemns, rather than commends or excuses, sin. God commends faithfulness, self sacrifice and holiness of heart and life in the believer.

Sinning religion, on the other hand, vainly invokes the name of God, and mistakenly claims Biblical authority, when it condemns those who teach that God can and will save people from all sin in this present evil world. Sinning religion also commends those who preach and teach that God, either cannot or will not save anyone from all sin through faith in Christ.

Those who condemn deliverance from sin and commend sinning religion think they are doing God's will. I know this sounds absurd, but this notion has been around since the time of the apostles.

Romans 6:1-2
(1) What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
(2) God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Romans 6:15-18
(15) What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
(16) Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
(17) But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
(18) Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

DLG note... God not only does not commend sin and sinners, He condemns sin and sinners.

Ephesians 5:9-11
(9) (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
(10) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
(11) And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

1 Thessalonians 4:7-8
(7) For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
(8) He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.

DLG note... Sinning religion's aberrant belief system has permeated Christendom. It masquerades as the "faith once for all delivered to the saints," robbing multitudes of salvation and blaspheming God. Though it is unpopular to speak against this graceless counterfeit, we must cry aloud and spare not.
