01/05/12 A METAPHOR FROM FISHING...

I worked on Sports Fishing boats. We trolled for King and Spanish Mackerel, Bonita, Wahoo, Dolphin (Dorado), Albacore and Bluefish, sometimes making very tight turns, in order to stay in the fish or avoid other boats.

We drift fished for Sea Bass, Grouper and Snapper, sometimes with several fisherman crowded into a very small space. Sometimes it was difficult to keep our lines from getting tangled, but failure to keep our lines clear can be costly.

Christians, stay alert, put forth the effort; tangled lives can be very costly.

1 Peter 3:8-11
(8) Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
(9) Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
(10) For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
(11) Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
